Rooster - Season 1 (2026)

AVAILABLE ON SKY COMEDY

Rated 15

If you are looking for an easy to watch, bingeable comedy series - then for us - ‘Rooster’ is that show.

It largely follows Steve Carell’s character - Greg Russo, who is a best selling author of a series of ‘Rooster’ books that feature an alter-ego of Greg that he wishes he was more like.

Greg is at a cross-roads in his life - he is alone after the divorce from his wife of 25 years and while he cant be more like Rooster, he is given the opportunity to appear at the College, where his daughter works as an Arts-History professor and is having a rough time, with her husband having just left her following his affair with a post-grad student named Sunny.

Greg finds himself settling in well with faculty members and he is delighted to then get the opportunity to stay on for a full term as a writer-in-residence. It gives him a new lease of life and the purpose he craves - as well as getting to see more of his daughter and “helping” her through her issue although she doesn’t necessarily see it that way!

It’s a really fun, enjoyable show, that gives plenty of time to all the main characters to let you learn more about them and like them all. It intertwines the characters stories really well and of course there are moments of nonsense and silliness but all these tie into the main story and I’m even happy to report that the season ending is very good too - nothing left frustratingly open!

Our worthy winner of the TV Series of the Month for May 2026, and we already look forward to Season 2 - a note-worthy 8.2/10 for this one - give it a watch.
