Already one of the most watched films ever on its opening week on Netflix and Adam Sandlers highest ever opening for a movie - Happy Gilmore 2 is my movie of the Month for August.
It won’t appeal to everyone and it’s not an Oscar-worthy movie but it is classic Adam Sandler and a fine follow up to the first movie.
I’m an Adam Sandler fan and in my younger years, I adored all his comedy movies - including Happy Gilmore of course.
This movie effortlessly finds the same humour as the first, there are plenty of fun cameos and nods to characters from the first movie that are no longer here with us. It’s just good old, silly fun.
In this movie, I’ll not give away the storyline away but essentially Happy has to overcome his demons, to save golf from the new school.
Silly, fun, simple & nostalgic - for those who love Sandler and his old comedy movies - 7.4/10
