Frankenstein (2025)

It has been a real struggle to find any movie worth talking about lately - even more so one to recommend as Movie of the Month but Netflix have it - with Guilliermo Del Toro’s - Frankenstein.
It’s an age old story, told differently and works brilliantly on the screen. The acting is good, the graphics are good and it’s got quite a lot of suspense and action. The sets are brilliant - and I believe were actually constructed, the colour grading matches the mood and its an all round excellent adaption of the story of Dr Frankenstein and his monster.
Plenty of hype around Jacob Elordi at the moment (and he must have suffered with the extent of the make-up for this role and a fine job by Oscar Isaac - as Dr Frankenstein, among others.
All round excellent. Worthy of an 8.1/10 (possibly a bit more on another day) and it was able to hold the attention of our teenage son - which is worthy of points on its own nowadays!
It is the best of the movies out there at the moment by quite a stretch - definitely worth a watch but if its any consolation once you’ve watched it, there are lots of great TV Series worth binging on rather than looking for another movie to watch - pop over to our tv reviews to see our recommendations.
