Netflix serves up a wholesome and sweet treat with Nonnas (puns intended) .
Vince Vaughn plays Joe Scaravella - an Italian-American, who - after the passing of his beloved - seeks to honour her memory by opening an Italian restaurant with the idea that having authentic Italian food prepared by local Italian grandmothers.
It wouldn’t be a good movie if it was as straight forward as that and you get emotionally involved as things go awry.
It’s a really easy-to-watch, feel good kind of film with Vince Vaughn playing a what feels like a typical character for him. It’s based on a true story and goes at a fairly slow pace - which is fine if you haven’t the energy or patience to watch something too taxing.
It might seem a bit low but it’s a warm-vibes 6.8/10 score from us.
