Zootropolis 2 / Zootopia 2 (2025)

AVAILABLE IN CINEMAS

Rated PG

To start with - a bit of a rant…1 - why does a movie need to have the 2 different names - Zootopia (Worldwide) and Zootropolis (UK)?

2. I’ve been sooooo disappointed in the movie selection recently - the amount of what must be relatively low budget movies being spewed out on streaming services seems to have far exceeded the good old blockbuster movie. It’s made it nearly impossible to find anything to suggest to you.

Knowing that most of us out there are not necessarily in a good position of wealth and that most of us pay for streaming services as our piece of luxury each month. So I do try to steer clear of movies you have to pay to rent or go to the cinema for.

Anyway, rant aside - the first movie was really good fun and high quality animated graphics - with a good storyline. This time round we follow rabbit cop Judy Hopps and fox - Nick Wilde while they take on their latest assignment. It’s a reptilian theme this time round and a very good follow up to the original…it almost feels like it can be an endless movie franchise and I expect we should expect at least another couple of movies from the Zootropolis / Zootopia team.

It’s been out for a few months now but is still showing in some Cinemas (Jan 2026) - and expected to be on Disney+ streaming channel around March/April…so you might be able to get it a bit cheaper for a trip out with the kids or if you want to wait - hopefully only a couple of months until you can stream - but very much worth a watch!

My kids are a bit older now so the allure of animated movies is waning but our youngest (13) still enjoyed it and both me and his mum did too. A solid 7.7/10 - and look forward to the 3rd one.
