Nobody Wants This returns for a second season after the successful release of Season 1. We get 10 short episodes to binge on once again with this series, that continues to follow our two main characters… a sex podcaster and a Rabbi, as they continue to navigate the stormy seas of a relationship that is contending with their (and their families) contrasting lifestyles and beliefs.
It’s more of the same with Season 2 of Nobody Wants this and you really need to watch Season 1 first, to fully understand the characters. What we didn’t like so much in this season is the growing separation in the storyline from what is believable or relatable (we get its a comedy though).
The more we watched, the less we actually like the characters. With the storyline, you have a young Rabbi who is expected to be the leader of his flock - but the irony is that he is completely gormless when it comes to communicating with his partner…less funny and more ‘really?!’
Kristen Bells character isn’t much better - glimpses of likeability, equally matched by poor judgement and communication skills…for someone making a living as a podcaster…and she and her sister Morgan aren’t really very nice people full stop, when you see their actions… The annoyance with that brings it down for us compared with Season 1.
If you’ve already watched and liked Season 1 - then you’re invested and should watch Season 2.
It’s fine, it’s more of the same - still a fun watch but it’s only a 6.8/10 from us for this easy to watch a binge-able show.
