THE WITCHER, Season 4 (2025)

AVAILABLE ON NETFLIX

Rated 15

The Witcher returns to Netflix after an extended period, where it was highly publicised that after 3 Seasons - Henry Cavill would NOT be returning to his role as Geralt of Rivia, after reports of a fall out with the production team over the series not mirroring the books.

Liam Hemsworth has since stepped in to become the new Geralt and to be honest - if you can see past the personnel change, he does a pretty decent job. The clips and trailers also do a good job helping with the transition between Cavill and Hemsworth by not showing Cavills face - so it’s trying to help you forget and remember at the same time - quite clever really!

It seems however that the changeover of personnel, coupled with the overly long gap between season 3 and 4 has proved to much for a lot of people - with Season 4 viewing numbers struggling to reach 50% of the Season 3 numbers - in their respective first weeks.

The Season follows a few separate storylines, that are all ultimately tied together and are the continuation of Geralt and Yennefer battling evil in their separate searches for Ciri. Yennefer has her hands full in all out wizarding/witching war against Vilgefortz and Geralt is busy crossing a continent at war, in his own quest to find Ciri.

If you’ve already watched and enjoyed Season 1 - 3 - then you should give it a chance and keep it going.

It’s more of the same, gets slated by the critics but it’s still a fun watch, with good action and CGI - and with all that said and taken into account - it’s a bit “meh” but still a 6.1/10 from us - for this season.
